Icee Prize Plunge
ICEE Prize Plunge is an arcade game design project that I mainly managed and facilitated during a Graphics Internship with Bay Tek Entertainment. Bay Tek, owner of notable games like Skee-Ball, is a major game designer and manufacturer. The goal of this project was to explore the market of claw games while maintaining a relationship with the brand ICEE, a previously successful partnership for games within Bay Tek.
As my role as an intern, I was given most of the task management and creative problem solving with this project to create the identity of this game for it’s first round of testing at a local arcade. After deliberation within the art team, it was decided that my logo and creative direction for the claw game would be chosen and the game was developed over an eight week period. An initial claw game from was purchased from China and it was my responsibility to facilitate the changes that would need to be made in terms of graphics, material, and structure- to allow it to become an ICEE-themed claw game with redeemable prizes in an arcade environment.
Along with using ICEE’s current brand guidelines and assets, I eventually waited for official partnership approval after designing a variety of graphics for the game and maintaining print files to be tested and created onsite. At the end of the project, I was able to help deliver the game to the arcade for testing.
